Celebrity's of the Week: Christmas Edition

What President Obama is reading on his Vacation

First off why is anyone concerning themselves with what the president is reading. The presidents affairs should not be something similar to Facebook. Journalist should report the important events that the president does and not report his daily events as one would with Facebook. The presidents personal affairs should be personal and not reported to such detail, whats next "what president Obama ate for breakfast." That would not be too shocking. The president is not a celebrity he is the leader of a country who helps govern how the country is ran. He makes important deals and discusses many essential things with other country leaders. I view this to be a major issue with this country. We treat important officials like celebrities instead of showing the proper respect for them. We treat them like they are our friends, which is the wrong thing to do. This particular event holds no major importance in the government besides the fact that the president is taking a vacation which is perfectly ok. The only issue that I see is that the news stations and websites are reporting useless information, when they should be reporting major events that happen in the world today. Events such as what major leaders in countries do what. The news story dicusses what the presisent reads during his vacation in Hawaii. He brought "A Constellation of Vital Phenomena," by Anthony Marra, "The Narrow Road to the Deep North," by Richard Flanagan, "Nora Webster," by Colm Toibin and "The Laughing Monsters," by Denis Johnson "Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Truth and Faith in the New China," by Evan Osnos and "Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End" by Dr. Atul Gawande

President Obama's Immigration Plans

President Obama has recently made an order to halt the deportation process for millions of illegal immigrants. His order also extends to create jobs for the parents of U.S. citizens and anyone that has lived within the U.S.'s borders for over 5 years. This betrays what the united states president stands for, he is suppose to follow the U.S. constitution but his branch of government is the only one that has failed this time and time again. In this particular case he has failed to follow the "Take Care Clause" which dictates in Article two section three "he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." The president is suppose to detain anyone that is performing illegal acts against the laws of the United States, illegal immigrants are part of that group. Not only are they called illegal immigrants but them living in the United States mean that they have crossed the border illegally and are living here without paying taxes. This is very illegal especially since they are thriving off of the people that live in America legally and are paying taxes. The president should not ignore this fact and he should especially not let these people have jobs that hared enough to get for regular citizens. He should focus on the people that are already in this country and not focus on ones that are here illegally this only creates less jobs for other people, increasing this countries unemployement level more.

Celebrity's of the Week

Head O' Sate

Many interesting points were made in the film Head of State featuring famous comedian Chris Rock. The movie held many interesting scenes and an equally well made plot. This film was about a man named Mays Gillian and his path to becoming president of the United States. Mays is an African American whom is interested in politics. He lived in a rundown neighborhood outside of Washington D.C. and he was the man that everyone in town went to when they had a problem. While doing his everyday activities he overhear on the news that one of the political parties candidates plan collided with a plane in mid air killing both him and his running mate. That party then needed to pick a candidate fast since their candidate died. They noticed Mays Gillian and his act of bravery, of saving a lady and her cat from a building that was planned to be demolished, on the news and decided to have him be their candidate for president. He conducted many activities that were very irregular for politics and president candidates. When attending a fundraiser party Mays become bored with the atmosphere that surrounded him, he then decided to liven things up and become the DJ of the party,. All the people at the fundraiser then began to dance and have a good time. This is making fun of how fundraiser are stiff and how people need to relax and enjoy things more often than not. When Mays was given speeches for him to read whenever he visited each state they sounded the same until the very end where he would change it to suit the crowd before him. He said what the people wanted to hear not his views on the topic. Most politicians say what the people want to hear in order to become powerful and elected into higher positions. This is not how politics should be, the people in power should be honest with their views instead of lying about what they say. During the debate Mays was against his competitor. They depicted debates as actual arguments where people go back and forth in heated conversation. This is what a debate should be not something that is monitored and is restricted. Debates work a similar way arguments do and that is two people go back and forth until a solution a verdict has been made about said topic. Not something where they can only rebuttal what the other said a couple time and thats it. Mays campaign platform was one that was viewed as fun and entertaining while the competitors was more official and stiff. This makes fun of the strict ways the campaigns are and how uptight the candidates look. While Mays was campaigning he wore more laxed clothing and looked fun. In actual campaigns the candidates look as if they have never been to a club and enjoyed themselves.

Vote for Governor

It is a hard decision between the two candidates considering they both bring many interesting ideas and points to the table. The one candidate that secured my vote would be Martha Coakley. I am a strong supporter of early childhood education. Childrens brains are like sponges whatever is taught to them at an earlier age is easily memorized and remembered for the later years to come. Martha Coakley has made this one of her priorities to accomplish. The next point that Martha is planning is to provide a tax free savings account for college. This will make it easier for students to attend more prestigious schools without the fear of losing all their money. Having a business that is composed of 11 or more employees would mean that a company would have to provide paid sick days. This is another point supported by Martha Coakley. This would cause more people to work considering it would be easier to get paid work days since it only requires 11 employees to receive them. She also opposes the use of welfare money to purchase alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets. People that have nothing typically want to drown their sorrows by using the things listed before. They are typically addicted and are stuck in a deep depression. I believe if making it harder to receive welfare and proving that you are working this would cause many people to become motivated and to begin working.

Celebrity's of the week: President Edition

President Bill Clinton

President Barack Obama

The Glorious 13 and its right of Passage

The Amendments held within the constitution of the United States dictate the rights the citizens have that dwell within this country. When the original ten amendments came to be in the Bill of rights it showed everyone that the rights of the citizens of America will be protected by the government. The Amendments address all the freedoms that people share and more are still being made today. The process of ratification of an amendment is lengthy and foreboding. President Abraham Lincoln knew this for sure, given that during the Civil War he wanted to allow slaves the right to become free and join the country as citizens and equal ground as everyone. As one could assume during this time period slavery was very natural and part of society. Most places even developed prospering economies based on the slave trade and other slave markets. Once this Amendment was introduced, it caused a major problem and received a great amount of criticism from every part of society. This included the presidents very own cabinet and congress men. Many of the people did not believe African Americans to be the same as Caucasians which thus generated a deep hatred for them, especially towards the man who believed that it would be just to enable slaves to become free. When Lincoln proposed the Amendment to congress men many of them became fearful of the future and could not understand the changes that were soon to come. They were especially fearful of what the African Americans might gain after citizenship and freedom, things like voting rights and interracial marriage could occur. Some of the congressmen brought those points and other up similar to the African Americans holding government positions, becoming higher in social ranks and owning land. It took most of these men a long while to accept the joint efforts of the African American troops intermingling with Caucasian force to strike down the enemies of the United States. The congressmen that disagreed with the amendment caused Mr. Lincoln a major deal of strife within the government. Despite this Mr. Lincoln knew he only needed a majority vote to allow this amendment to pass so he began invoking his implied powers to persuade those who were unsure of what to vote for. He would offer them positions in congress which was not exactly morally incorrect for a high ranking official to offer jobs, it was more along the lines of swindling someone or along the lines of the action is looked down upon.Mr. Lincoln also twisted the truth to benefit him and to further the process of this amendment. When the Congressmen asked whether or not there were Confederates in Washington DC, Mr. Lincoln rebutted with that he did not know whether or not there are Confederates in Washington DC, despite the fact that he knew the truth of the situation and there were in fact Confederates in DC. The President truly required this to pass so much so that he aged ten years since he first took office. Part of the reason for this desire was the predictable presidential move and that was to receive more votes for the next presidential election. Another reason was that if he were to be exchanged with another president the Emancipation Proclamation would be rescinded and the amendment would be utterly diminished and may have been passed. It would have been AXED

The Dark Knight

Iron Man

Santa has been recorded to enter peoples homes without permission and leaving toys in the houses he visits. Some of these toys include toy soldiers. the 3rd talks about how it is against the law to have soldiers force their way into your house during peace time

When FDR ran for president it was not illegal to run for presidency a many times as you want but it was tradition that the president would step down after two. FDR ran for the record of four until he died in his fourth term as president. The 22nd amendment addresses this problem and limits the president to only two terms max.

A story about a fat man and the country he created

Peter Griffin, a simple man that dwells in the city of quahog Rhode Island. When he wanted a pool for his house he soon discovered that his house is not technically "part" of the United States of America. Once he found this out he created Petoria an Authoritarian country with Peter as the dictator. Having a country certainly has its benefits, and Peter Griffin sure figured that out fast. Since he was the ruler of Petoria he was granted Diplomatic Immunity and conducted many severe crimes since he could not be arrested. He also found out that he could just "take what he wants." He showed an example of this when he invaded his friends pool and claimed it as Joehio. This caused the US to take action and erect a barrier around Petoria. Once they were blocked off, the Griffins began suffering the full effects of being cut off from a government. They lost power, heat and water for their house. People in America are able to use benefits like these because the government offers these services. While the blockade was up, no one could leave Petoria. The children could not attend public school and had to be homeschooled by their mother. They could not go to a store and buy any goods and ran out of food. The family could not bear this for long and left Petoria all to Peter. The US government then pointed a missile at the house and said that if Peter does not surender Peoria then they will commence plan Blow the Crap out of his house. Peter surrenders Petoria to the Us government and once again becomes part of the US.

Celebrity with a doughnut

The Ratification of the Constitution was a very difficult task. It is very similar to how some people eat a Jelly Filled Doughnut, some are messy while some can eat it unscathed.
Many states had issues with ratifying the constitution, but in others there was an unanimous vote. In Delaware there was a 30 - 0 vote for ratifying the constitution and there were the first to do it. While Pennsylvania was right on its heels becoming the second to ratify the constitution. States actually started to ratify it 10 months after it was presented. In Massachusetts debates were conducted as well in many other of the remaining states. Major debates were conducted in Virginia and New York. If the federalists failed in convincing the other politicians to ratify the new union would have lost major key states and would have gravely affected this process. What got the rest of the states was a Bill of Rights. Once proposed many states agreed to ratify. The last state to ratify was Rhode Island and they only decided to do it because they felt threatened by a new foreign government. The Federalists had a hard job convincing the states to accept the constitution. They had to convince everyone that without this constitution there would be "anarchy and civil strife". When Antifederalists popped up criticizing the constitution people like Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay wrote 85 essays explaining the constitution and quelling the fires spread by the Antifederalists.

The Articles of Confederation were as successful as the Vietnam war. There were some good ideas in the articles but the few articles that proved to be helpful were shrouded by the problems of the not so likely articles. There were ones that would help strengthen government while there were ones that made no sense to have to begin with. Some of the Articles led to confusion and mislead people. For example would you want a national document to read in it that all the states of America were bonded in "friendship." No I thought not. Instead people would ask for something more along the lines of establishing equality or fairness.

In article four, "the better to secure and perpetuate mutual friendship and intercourse among the people of the different States in this union." What that basically means is that people should not look as each other as enemy's  in stead they should veiw each other as equals. In article the first articale it talks about "The Stile of this confederacy shall be 'The United States of America" which defines the paper. These articals are helpful in their own way but also do not need to be there in the Articals of confederation these facts about this country are mentioned across many other documents and is pointless to yet again to resay what has already been mentiones

The way of life

Anarchy. That is what the world would become. The entirety of the world and all the ideals and structures that are here today would crumble and be in disarray. All animals follow simple regiments and primal instincts to make their decisions. Gorillas form groups and the strongest leads and protects the others. Meer cats have watch outs and take turns watching their home so predators to not kill them. Animals follow their instincts to survive and us humans are no exception. The only difference between animals and humans is the human minds vast intellect and how we can approach more aspects in life using different forms of Science and
Mathematics.

Government is very important in order for any species to thrive in the bewildering outdoors. Systems of government only exists to create an uniformity in which humans can move about their lives without the constant threat of other humans and animals. All animals use basic forms of government to survive and thrive as species. Without these systems in place people would ravage and commit crimes that would have once been placed and been looked upon as wrong by society. People would crimes and act as the people in the movie, "The Purge." In the movie there is a day where all crime is revoked and anything can happen.  That is to reduce crime during all the rest of the days in the year. A life without government would be a very harsh one at that and it would be filled with many hard times and hurdles to cross. The book, "The Lord of the Flies," describes what happens when a group of kids are stranded on an island how they survive. The eventually form a system of government in order to survive. Many of the kids had died but they had to struggle as a group and figure out a way to move on survive on that island.

It is in human nature to have someone to rule over another telling them what they can and cannot do. Most people cannot think for themselves and that is why there are monarchs and presidents to determine what is best for the people of their governing land.
