The Articles of Confederation were as successful as the Vietnam war. There were some good ideas in the articles but the few articles that proved to be helpful were shrouded by the problems of the not so likely articles. There were ones that would help strengthen government while there were ones that made no sense to have to begin with. Some of the Articles led to confusion and mislead people. For example would you want a national document to read in it that all the states of America were bonded in "friendship." No I thought not. Instead people would ask for something more along the lines of establishing equality or fairness.

In article four, "the better to secure and perpetuate mutual friendship and intercourse among the people of the different States in this union." What that basically means is that people should not look as each other as enemy's  in stead they should veiw each other as equals. In article the first articale it talks about "The Stile of this confederacy shall be 'The United States of America" which defines the paper. These articals are helpful in their own way but also do not need to be there in the Articals of confederation these facts about this country are mentioned across many other documents and is pointless to yet again to resay what has already been mentiones

  1. I agree with you completely about the firm league of friendship. That is not a government. I disagree with you on the fact that they should not have included Article I in the Articles of Confederation. This was an official document that should have name of the government in it since it is talking about the government.
